An Adhesive Anchor Installer is an individual who has demonstrated the ability to read, comprehend, and execute instructions to properly install adhesive anchors in concrete. No refund will be granted within one week of the exam date and no request to move to another exam date will be accepted.
Classes not meeting the minimum number of registrants will be cancelled and rescheduled to the next available class.
What To Expect
This class is a two-day course. The morning of Day 1 is four and one-half hours of instructor lead teaching through the class material. In the afternoon of Day 1 two and one-half hours is practice on drilling and cleaning holes in concrete beams and then installing an adhesive anchor in the vertical down position that is plumb and of the correct depth. This is followed by practice on installing an adhesive anchor in the overhead position. Day 2 begins with a brief Q&A session to answer any remaining questions, followed by filling out the demographic forms for the written and practical exams, then administration of the 90-minute written examination. Vertical down practical exams are then administered one at a time with those not passing going to the back of the line for their second trial. Practical exams for installation of an adhesive anchor in the overhead position are the final test.
The written exam is closed book and 1.5 hours in length. The performance exam is closed book and consists of two parts: Part 1 (Vertical Down) and Part 2 (Overhead). To pass, both sections must be completed satisfactorily.
There will be a 1-hour lunch break from 12:30 - 1:30 pm.
What To Bring
Bring a photograph ID, calculator, and No. 2 pencils to the exam.
Examinees are required to bring, at a minimum, long pants, sleeved shirt and work shoes while participating in the performance exam. Examinees will not be allowed to participate in the performance exam without these items.
It is the responsibility of the examinee to provide any additional PPE they deem necessary to protect themselves from injuries due to handling materials, or if applicable, caustic burns, which may occur from coming in contact with cementitious materials. PPE is NOT provided by the Alaska Chapter.
